Reviews for Ming Jii Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 303 reviewsMing Jii Restaurant is widely appreciated for its traditional Chee Cheong Fun and an extensive selection of fresh, customizable Yong Tau Foo ingredients. Customers frequently highlight the generous portion sizes, reasonable pricing, and the rich, flavorful sauces used in their dishes. The restaurant’s unique offerings, such as the An Soon Chee Cheong Fun with its distinctive ingredients, add to its appeal. Friendly staff and efficient service are commonly noted strengths, though patrons advise arriving early or being patient during peak hours due to limited seating and occasional waiting times. Some feedback suggests a preference for serving Yong Tau Foo warm rather than at room temperature, but overall, Ming Jii maintains a strong reputation as a cherished spot for a satisfying traditional breakfast experience.
The food selection at this place features a limited variety of Chee Cheong Fun, but it is complemented well by the Yong Tau Foo. Ordering is efficient, and you have the option to choose your own Yong Tau Foo. I highly recommend trying the An Soon Chee Cheong Fun, which offers a unique twist not typically found in standard Hong Kong style. This version includes fried small shrimp and water chestnut, adding a delightful crunch. However, one downside is that the dish tends to be a bit dry, as it lacks a sauce to enhance the flavor. Additionally, the Yong Tau Foo seems to be served without being reheated or deep-fried, resulting in a slightly colder temperature. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick lunch on the weekend, especially since there isn't much of a crowd.
Great food variety. The food portion was also very generous, the ingredients used and sauce was also really thick and not diluted in any ways. The Yong Tou Foo was bouncy and tasty. Price was reasonable and staff was also friendly. If going on weekends suggest to go earlier or have more patience to wait for seats. Parking depends on days of the week.
Delicious chee cheong fun and varieties of additional handmade ingredients that one can pick and choose . Yong tau foo fish paste filling are fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable with great friendly staffs.
One of the better traditional Chee Cheong Fun. Somewhat like back to the good old days. Be prepared to wait or share a table during peak period.
Chee Cheong Fun was fresh and QQ. Loved both the curry and spring onion oil flavours. The yong tau hu variety was excellent, but a little disappointed that it came at room temperature. Serving it warm or hot, would have been most ideal for me. Overall still a good place for breakfast, just before heading for produce shopping.
